Here at New Forest Ice Cream HQ we have an innovative way to help become eco-friendly. We recycle the heat made by our refrigeration to heat water for our factory. Clever right?
70% of our vehicles have Euro 6 engines
We are taking the greener route by fitting 70% of our vehicles with Euro 6 engines, and therefore reduce emissions as we deliver ice cream near you.
Not only are our vans good for the environment, our sales manager also has a fully electric car.

Plant-based Salted Caramel helps LoveTheForest
For every tub of plant-based Salted Caramel ice cream we sell we donate to LoveTheForest. Their mission is simple but close to our hearts, LoveTheForest promotes the conservation and improvement of the New Forest whilst also educating the public about helping the local environment.
Solar panels
By installing solar panels on our roof and thermal tiles on the walls, we have lowered our carbon footprint. Since we have installed our solar panels we have saved over 71,000kg of CO2.
That’s the equivalent of planting over 4,500 trees.
Recycling all round
wAll our cardboard and paper gets recycled.
Additionally, we are working with local waste companies to become better with recycling.

Happy cows mean tasty ice cream
All of our scooping and retail ice cream tubs are made with milk that comes from a family farm that is less than 2 hours away from us. Chew Valley Dairy is one of the farms in Britain committed to tackling climate change and aims to reduce green house gas emissions to 0% by 2040. They use an anaerobic digester, which converts farm by-products into clean, low carbon energy that powers the farm and the local village (it’s pretty clever if you ask us!)
Soft-serve ice cream is made with real dairy Jersey milk from farms in Jersey, because they share the same ethics as us – with high standards of environmental care and more sustainable soil and water management.
Eco-friendly packaging
We make our spoon-in-lid 120ml and 500ml retail tubs from LDPE paper board. Once you have eaten all the ice cream, all you need to do is rinse and recycle. The 120ml also comes with a compostable wooden spoon in the lid, eliminating the single use plastic. Tasty ice cream, eco-friendly with environmentally friendly packaging.

Recyclable scooping tubs
Our scooping tubs (2ltr, 2.4ltr, 4ltr, 4.75ltr) are all recyclable when finished. Simply wash out and recycle.
Sustainable ingredients
We agree, we have the best ice cream around! But more than just milk and cream (coconut if its plant-based) go in to making award winning ice cream. We source all of our ingredients from BRCS accredited suppliers. The ingredients we use are ethically and sustainably sourced so they are not only tasty but good for the planet. We try to use locally sourced ingredients where we can so we lower our carbon footprint too.
